In a world that moves too fast, where our attention is constantly pulled by noise, screens, and endless distractions, we often forget to pause. We forget to feel. We forget the quiet beauty of our own memories.
This workshop is an invitation to slow down.
It is a space where participants are gently guided back to themselves—back to the moments that shaped them, the small joys they may have overlooked, and the emotions waiting to be expressed. Through art, we create a bridge between memory and presence, between feeling and form.

This is not about being an artist. It is about being human.

You don’t need experience, skills, or talent. All you need is the willingness to explore what lives inside you. Here, drawing becomes a language. Scribbles become stories. And a simple ceramic object becomes a timeless container of your most meaningful moments.

Over the course of three days, participants will transform emotions into visual symbols, and those symbols into lasting ceramic pieces—objects that carry personal meaning and preserve beautiful memories forever.

The atmosphere of the workshop is intentionally intimate and calming: soft music, candlelight, and a sense of warmth and connection. It is designed as a small escape from daily pressure, social media noise, and emotional overload—a place to reconnect, reflect, and create freely.

Art as a Safe Space for Memory and Emotion

Day 1: Reconnecting with Memory and Emotion //
26th of August

Hosted by Malek Alabdah and Karma Nesci.

We begin with a guided reflection session.
Participants will respond to carefully designed questions that help them reconnect with positive memories, meaningful experiences, and moments of joy—both past and present. These questions are crafted to gently shift focus toward emotional release and inner clarity.
A live music set carefully designed to invite introspection will be curated and performed by Karma Nesci.

Day 2: From Emotion to Form (Ceramics Creation) // 2nd of September
Hosted by Cornelia Carlsson and Malek Alabdah.

Participants are introduced to the basics of ceramics in a simple and accessible way.

You will learn:

  • How ceramic pieces like cups and plates are made

  • Basic techniques for shaping and handling clay

  • The creative possibilities of working with ceramic materials.

Then, the hands-on process begins:
Shaping their own ceramic piece from clay.
Creating a personal object from start to finish.
This stage connects the emotional work from Day 1 with physical creation—turning inner experiences into tangible form.

Day 3: Painting, Finishing, and Preservation // 23rd of September
Hosted by Malek Alabdah and Karma Nesci.

Once the ceramic pieces are ready, participants begin decorating them using their personal symbols and drawings.

You will:
Paint your pieces using glazes, brushes, and tools (with guidance and introduction)
Apply your unique visual language developed in Day 1.

Finalize their artwork with intention and care
After the session:
The pieces will be clear-glazed and professionally fired by the studio.
You will return one week later to collect your finished pieces.
Each object becomes more than just a ceramic item—it becomes a personal archive of emotions, a reminder of meaningful moments, and a lasting piece of self-expression.

Handmade ceramic bowls and platters with blue and teal bubble glaze patterns on white background.

Bubble glazing is one of the most playful and exciting decorating techniques in ceramics, and this workshop is all about embracing curiosity and having fun.

Using colourful glaze mixtures and bubbles, you'll create delicate, lace-like patterns that dance across the surface of your ceramic piece. The process feels a little bit like a science experiment and a little bit like making art as a child, full of surprises, happy accidents, and beautiful results.

We'll show you how to create and apply bubble patterns, explore different colour combinations, and discover how small changes can create completely different effects. The process is easy to learn,so it’s suitable for beginners, while also offering plenty of creative possibilities for more experienced participants.

Join us for a creative session filled with colour, experimentation, and the simple delight of watching bubbles transform into beautiful ceramic surfaces!
